The men’s cross country team did exactly what they needed to to qualify for their fifth straight NCAA Championships by placing 3rd at the Mountain Regional. The men put all five of their scorers in the top-25, earning All-Region awards. Since Coach Heins began coaching cross country at NAU, this is the first time a team has earned five All-Region awards.
The women finished off their season with a 7th place finish. They were ranked 9th heading into the meet, moving pass Big Sky runner-ups Idaho State. The women’s team saw two individual earn All-Region awards, with Rochelle Kanuho and Kortnee Burton finishing 16th and 17th, respectively.

The men are currently ranked 12th in the country heading into the NCAA Championships. In their last four trips to the “big dance” they have not finished outside the top-10, and don’t expect this year’s team to break the trend.
